Contact the Montgomery County Permit Department at 936-539-7836 or visit the Permit Department’s website to obtain any required permit(s) for your project.

• If this is a new build (residential or commercial), you may use your building permit
• If this is an additional driveway or an extension of a current driveway, on a residential property, you will need to obtain a Non-Structure Residential Permit
• If this is a new or additional driveway on a commercial property, you will need a Non-Structure Commercial Development Permit

Once the culvert is onsite, please ensure the installation location is clearly marked.

Once you have completed steps 1-3, please email a copy of your permit to precinct3@mctx.org with the address, your full name and contact number.

We will create a work order for your project and request underground utility locates for the property, which typically takes 48-72 hours to complete.

After the utility locates are completed, Precinct 3 will schedule installation of your culvert, setting it on grade with stabilized sand. Weather permitting, Precinct 3 crews will set your culvert within 3-7 business days.

After the culvert installation, Precinct 3 will email you a copy of your invoice with instructions on how to submit payment.

Single Culvert

Up to 24” diameter: $25 per foot
Over 24” diameter: $30 per foot

Double Culvert

Up to 24″ diameter: $30 per foot
Over 24″ diameter: $35 per foot

Triple

Up to 24″ diameter: $35 per foot
Over 24″ diameter: $40 per foot

Culvert Set

Residents responsible for:

• Have the pipe and location for installation marked
• Contact our office to enter the work in the system

Precinct 3 responsible for:

• Verify the location is ready
• Submit request for underground utility locates through 811
• Set culvert within three to seven business days (under normal conditions and weather permitting)
• Set culvert to proper grade with cement-stabilized sand

Note:

• No driveway-type material will be provided by precinct (dirt, rock, etc.)
• Once the job has been completed, you will receive an invoice from Precinct 3
