Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds – San Jacinto Watershed Flood Mitigation Project
Montgomery County has issued a Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds for the San Jacinto Watershed and Tributary Barrier Flood Mitigation Project.
The approximately $51.5 million project will remove vegetation and other obstructions from portions of six waterways within the San Jacinto Watershed to help restore channel capacity. The project also includes stabilization measures in areas where significant erosion is identified.
Project areas include portions of Lake Creek, Stewarts Creek, Caney Creek, Peach Creek, White Oak Creek and the San Jacinto River East Fork.
Written public comments on the Environmental Review Record will be accepted by the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management through September 30, 2026.
